Cycnoches barthiorum is a newly discovered species of the genus only identified in 1999, it is also one of the rarest in cultivation and one of the most spectacular and easy to grow. A lowland species from Colombia, it appreciates bright light and warm temperatures. The dense round flowers occurs in large pendulous clusters with a rich rose-chestnut colour, with lighter shading in the center and speckled with random dots. The clone `Pink Dove` is the best clone of this species, with very intense pink colouration.
