Nicknamed the Foxtail Orchids, this species is native from India, Bangladesh, Myanmar (Burma), Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, southern China, the Philippines, Sumatra, Java, and Borneo. Inflorescences produce 10 – 35 with the flowers forming a fox-tail arrangement. Individual flowers are ¾” – 1” across. Sepals and petals are white variously spotted mauve-purple and a nice purple lip. Plants flower in winter to early spring. Flowers are veye FRAGRANT. Plants will grow well with Cattleya preferring brighter light.
