Pellionia daveauana ‘Watermelon’- Watermelon Begonia
Pellionia daveauana, also known as Watermelon Begonia is a fast growing, thick-stemmed vine from Asia. It has dark green veins on medium green leaves that are heavily veined and puckered. These attractive leaves are reminiscent in color to the Watermelon plant are about 1” wide and 2.5” long. The Pellionia daveauana ‘Watermelon’ is an easy to care for houseplant and looks great in a pot or hanging basket. It also does well in container gardens. It prefers bright, indirect light and moist (not wet) soil. It can tolerate light shade. The plant grows like a vine and can shingle up nicely a wall/any surface if damp or humid enough. The flowers are brown and held in large clusters.
Perfect for terrariums as well.
Despite its common name, it is not a begonia species.
Size: Select 'small' for a single growth plant and 'Middle' for a plant with multple growths.
