Bulbophyllum (Megaclinium) falcatum

Bulbophyllum (Megaclinium) falcatum is a very interesting and unique bulbophyllum species from Tropical West Africa.

The flowers are produced from scale like structures along the flattened part.  Individual flowers are small, under ¼”, and somewhat crab-shaped.    Sepals and petals are red or red-brown.  The labellum is yellow.   Plants will grow well with other Bulbophyllum, which is similar to Phalaenopsis light levels and temperature range.  Plants can be acclimated to brighter light, but watering must be increased.  Brighter light will lead to better flowering and proliferation of growths.
