This species is native to Bolivia, Peru, Colombia, Venezuela, Guiana, Surinam, and northern Brazil.  Galeandra is a genus related to both Catasetum and Cymbidium, and plants resemble Catasetums.

Striking flowers with prominent tubular purple lip, over unusual elongate pseudobulbs. Beautiful! Grow intermediate,with moderate-moderately bright light. Culture exactly as other Catasetaines.
